Listed by the Observer as one of \u201cOur top 50 players in the world of books\u201d, Clare Conville founded C&W in 2000 and is now Chair of the company.\u00a0In 2020, alongside author and curator Harriet Vyner, Clare co-founded the eclectic independent publishing imprint and production company CHEERIO in association with the Estate of Francis Bacon. Clare co-curated the Curious Arts Festival and sits on the board of the Cob Gallery.<\/p>
Clare has\u00a0a well-established and high profile list of authors whose work has been\u00a0translated into more than sixty languages, and many developed into theatre,\u00a0film and television adaptations. Between them, Clare\u2019s authors have won or been nominated for nearly every major literary prize in the UK.<\/p>

We are not currently accepting submissions, but once we reopen, we'll be considering manuscripts in the following areas:<\/p>
- An engrossing literary novel;\u00a0<\/p>
- A funny, compelling\u00a0novel about family dynamics;\u00a0<\/p>
- Expert-led nonfiction; and\u00a0<\/p>
- Memoir that makes you\u00a0rethink your place in the world.\u00a0<\/p>

Clare has a relatively limited capacity for new\u00a0writers on her list, but if you think your manuscript fits one of these\u00a0descriptions, please send the first three chapters alongside a synopsis for\u00a0fiction and a draft proposal for non-fiction once her submissions reopen. Clare is not <\/b>able to consider for representation books for children and young adults or gift and humour books.
